Abstract:
In order to explore the relationship between parental psychological control, adolescent depression, self-concept clarity, and sense of meaning in life, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 1242 adolescents in Henan Province using the Parental Psychological Control Scale, self-concept clarity questionnaire, sense of meaning in life scale, and Epidemic Center Depression Scale. The results indicate that: (1) there is a pairwise correlation between parental psychological control, self-concept clarity, sense of meaning in life, and adolescent depression; (2) Parental psychological control has a positive predictive effect on adolescent depression; (3) The individual mediating effect of self-concept clarity and sense of meaning in life on parental psychological control and adolescent depression is significant; (4) The chain mediating effect of self-concept clarity and sense of life meaning between parental psychological control and adolescent depression is significant. This study enriches the research results in the field of adolescent depression and provides ideas for further intervention.
